About the Avanti Music Program
Since 2012, the Avanti music program at KidWorks has provided opportunities to young musicians living in some of the toughest neighborhoods in Santa Ana, CA to flourish, create, express and excel through the gift of music. The program, directed by Joe Cristina, offers college preparatory music classes, ensemble performance experience, private instruction, and opportunities to participate in community service activities. Avanti’s repertoire reflects the diverse music of the community it serves, including pop and rock, sacred music, jazz, classical, Latin and world music.
About KidWorks
KidWorks, founded in 1993, operates three centers that have become safe havens in gang-heavy, high crime and overcrowded residential areas in central Santa Ana. KidWorks serves 800+ at-risk children, youth, and parents weekly through after-school educational support, spiritual and leadership development activities and health & fitness programs. In addition, KidWorks serves over 4,000 community members annually through various outreach programs with the main goal of restoring at-risk neighborhoods, one life at a time.
Our Students
Our talented Avanti Music students face many challenges in their neighborhoods and deserve our best efforts. They make a difference in their community. They’re getting better grades than they used to, and they’re staying in school at a higher rate than their peers. We believe these young leaders can eventually transform and restore their community.
Please support us today! Your tax deductible donations will provide educational and leadership building programs our students could not otherwise access.
