Hello, everyone!

Entity Contemporary Dance was so grateful for our last successful Kickstarter campaign, which allowed us to premiere “Braxon Vs. Oregon” in Los Angeles in Nov. 2014, sell out all shows, and even perform an encore weekend in January!

Now, the company has an amazing opportunity to take our production on the road. We will be premiering “Braxon Vs. Oregon” in San Francisco, CA on Oct. 10-11, 2015!

We are thrilled to finally travel our company and introduce our artistry to fresh audiences. However, this new endeavor brings substantial financial challenges, including dancers’ flights, hotels, prop transportation, etc., in addition to standard production costs, such as theater rental, stage management, lighting design, and dancer compensation.

Please contribute to our dream of making Entity Contemporary Dance a touring company by donating to our campaign! Every dollar will help us transport “Braxon Vs. Oregon” to the Bay Area and inspire with our art. We appreciate everyone who believes in us and we aim to continuously create quality, passionate work.

Set in a courtroom and surrounding the disputed Death with Dignity Act, “Braxon Vs. Oregon” is a fictional tale exploring themes of judgment, reason, and communal persuasion. In this immersive dance theater experience, we see our protagonist, Annette Braxon, faced with a choice of whether or not to end the life of a suffering loved one diagnosed with a terminal illness. Her decision leads her to the courtroom, where the audience is witness to the contentious trial.

“The courtroom is a place where our culture seeks some of its most profound truths. With intensity and beauty, [Braxon Vs. Oregon] excavates the passions behind multiple colliding truths. A stunning performance, with choreography that lets wonderful dancers explore what it means to live and die, by asking what it means to love.” – Professor Mark Schoenfield, Department of English, Vanderbilt University
