Personal Story
Former airline and charter pilot. Was a vegetarian for about 18 years before transitioning to a vegan diet for health reasons, then through education realized there is an ethical aspect to our relationships with animals and became vegan. As a pilot I blogged, (www.martysflyingveganreview.com) about my vegan meals on the road. Now I am taking a dream of feeding people reasonably priced, healthier (since vegan food has NO cholesterol), outstanding food, bursting with flavor, with a great mouthfeel, and made without the use of animals, and turning that into reality.
I truly believe that EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM we face as a world community can be solved by moving towards a vegan life. Water and food shortages, wars over scarce resources, health crises, and so many others are mitigated or eliminated by eating a 100% plant based diet and living a life of vegan ethics.
Business Description
Marty’s Vegan Fast Food is a proof of concept for a chain of vegan fast food restaurants. The test was to see if the general public was open to buying 100% vegan food. Vegans sure were. Well, the test was passed with flying colors when we took our vegan food out to the general public. We have vended at a series of music concerts on the Hudson River, a night bazaar, flea markets and vegan food events including Vegan Drinks and the world renowned NYC Vegetarian Food Festival and The Seed Experience.
We have been selected to be a vendor at one of the premier holiday markets in NYC, The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park, which runs from November 1 through January 3rd, 7 days a week. Bryant Park is located right behind the main branch of the NYC Public Library and the hundreds of shops draw not only the locals for lunch and dinner and holiday shopping but it’s also a hugely popular tourist destination because of the amazing outdoor skating rink. It’s also a place the locals come to during their lunch breaks and to pick up something for dinner.
