Willie’s Distillery is a small-batch distillery with a simple vision: to craft the finest spirits west of the Mississippi River.
When it comes to alcoholic beverages, preferences across America are undergoing a seismic shift. We’ve seen it with beer already: quality-conscious consumers turning their backs on mass-produced brews in favor of artisan crafted creations.
With craft breweries paving the way for the small batch movement, it’s time for craft distilleries to step into the spotlight, and Willie’s Distillery is making its way to the front.
The world demands more moonshine, and Willie’s is just the distillery to provide it.
Willie’s spirits are distilled out of the purest, simplest ingredients: Quality grains, carefully selected yeast, clean, crisp Montana water, and a healthy dose of heart and soul. Some of our products have wild Montana honey or native berries and botanicals.
Our still was custom-made especially for us by world-renowned still manufacturer Bavarian Holstein in Germany. The still is hand-crafted out of copper and hand-hammered to create more surface area, which reacts with our spirits’ vapors and brings out the very finest flavors.
Thanks to unique laws in Montana, our distillery also boasts a busy on-site tasting room, where we are able to sample out our spirits and sell bottles directly to our curious and thirsty visitors!
Willie’s Distillery spirits are available at an increasing number of locations across Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, and soon we’ll be expanding into select other states and beyond.
Willie’s Distillery is located on the bank of the Madison River in the picturesque cowboy town of Ennis, Montana. Ennis stands right at the heart of Montana’s vibrant fishing and hunting community and just 70 miles from Yellowstone National Park, one of the most beloved tourist destinations in the country.
Willie’s takes pride in Montana traditions and work ethic, and we strive to reflect those values in the attitudes and practices of our distillery. We use Montana grains in our products whenever prudent and possible, and we’re proud to support Montana’s local and state economies.

Our flagship Montana Moonshine is made with four grains and twice distilled to bring out the full flavor. It is what whiskey looks and tastes like before it goes into a barrel. Smooth, sweet and strong, Montana Moonshine is the most versatile spirit you’ll find. Moonshine is America’s original Vodka! Use it like a vodka, tequila or a whiskey and you can’t go wrong. Montana Moonshine received a gold medal in the 2014 International Craft Spirits Competition.
Montana Honey Moonshine
Our Honey Moonshine is made with three grains and molasses – kind of a whiskey and rum hybrid. It is lightly barrel aged and sweetened with local honey. Smooth and sweet, Montana Honey Moonshine is meant to be sipped on the rocks or mixed in your favorite whiskey drink. There is no denying this is one amazing spirit! Montana Honey Moonshine received a gold medal in the 2014 International Craft Spirits Competition.
Bighorn Bourbon is the perfect blend of varying ages of fine bourbon. Winner of the Silver Medal at the Beverage Tasting Institute, and named for the majestic Rocky Mountain Bighorn Ram, this smooth spirit is perfect sipped on the rocks or mixed in a favorite cocktail.
Wild Montana Chokecherry Liqueur
This is sweet and slightly tart like the native chokecherries that grow in the Montana foothills. The Chokecherries are locally harvested in the surrounding area by us and our friends – some were even gathered in our back yard. Drink Wild Montana Chokecherry Liqueur after a meal or on a hot summer day over ice. It is also excellent with a spritz of soda water or tonic.
In-House Spirits only sold in the tasting room include various types of Brandy, Tobacco Root Mountain Rye Whiskey, and specialty batches of liqueurs.
Since opening our doors in late December of 2012, we’ve seen incredible response to our distillery and our spirits.
The first batches of Montana Moonshine sold out within weeks, and we saw strong sales throughout 2013. The addition of sales staff at the beginning of September 2013 shifted our sales into high gear, and we’re working with an online marketing agency to increase our marketing and help to streamline our social media presence.
Willie’s Distillery is growing fast, but the growth is not without its growing pains: in order to continue the incredible momentum we’re building, we need to expand our production and storage capacity so we can spread the word about Willie’s Distillery across the United States and beyond.
Willie’s Distillery was founded by Willie Blazer and Robin Blazer, a dynamic duo of excellence.
Robin is a born-and-bred Montanan, raised on a wheat farm near Toston; and North Carolina native Willie has moonshine running in his veins, having grown up in the heart of Appalachian moonshine country. Willie and Robin have the expertise and business savvy to make Willie’s Distillery an unparalleled success: Willie studied distilling at Arizona High Spirits Distillery as well as learning distillery regulations and licensing under the tutelage of an agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; and Robin completed the Distillery Operations Long Course from Dry Fly Distilling and a distillation methods course at Desert Diamond Distillery, and was chosen as one of twelve business owner participants across the nation to take part in the MSN Business on Main web series.
Willie and Robin have lead their team of 14 to the front of the Montana craft spirits market. Together, they have the passion, the vision and the expertise to make Willie’s Distillery an undisputed leader in the craft distillery community.
