Riding the Bridge to Healthcare for Hope Air
We are Mikaela and Jennifer, both RNs working in rural BC communities, and we will be riding our bicycles from Prince Rupert to Prince George in 6 days (Sunday August 30th to Friday September 4th, 2015) to raise money for HopeAir as well as to raise awareness of difficulties that Northern BC residents face with accessing healthcare services.
Please help us raise $6,000 for Hope Air. Our goal is to raise $1,000 every day that we ride, and we’ll keep everyone posted of our progress!
This money will go directly to Hope Air and will provide 25 flights for Northern BC residents. Last year Hope Air arranged over 5,000 flights in BC alone, with most flights departing from Northern BC and Interior to destinations such as Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal, because that’s where the necessary specialists are. This year the number of flights is likely to be even higher. One flights costs Hope Air on average $250, so please consider adopting a flight, and help us reach our goal!
To find out about volunteer opportunities for the event please email Mikaela at mika_joe@hotmail.com.
We welcome cyclists to join us at their own risk. This is an event created by an individual for the cause. We will not seek registration or registration fees, but will not turn away those who wish to ride along side us.
