About the project
For the past ten years, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about space. It’s not space as in the stars, planets, galaxies and/or whatever inhabits it that’s my main focus, but rather space itself.
The Wikipedia page on space states a very true fact:
‘The concept of space is considered to be of fundamental importance to an understanding of the physical universe. However, disagreement continues between philosophers over whether it is itself an entity, a relationship between entities, or part of a conceptual framework.’
One thing I would like to add to this extract, the concept of space is fundamentally important to humanity.
To put it simply, we live on a doomed planet. In around one billion years our suns supply of fuel, hydrogen, will be running low. As this begins to happen the sun will expand, swallowing Mercury, Venus and possibly Earth. Even if Earth is lucky enough not to be engulfed by this inferno, the suns intense radiation will strip earth of its water and atmosphere. All life will cease to exist on this planet.
Some of you may think, ‘well, a billion years?? That’s way too far for me to care. Let the future generations worry about this!’
However let’s not forget about the other threats we face. Asteroid impacts, nuclear wars, pandemics, gamma ray bursts and the list goes on.
As far as we know, however unlikely, our planet is the only planet in the universe that holds life. It should be humanities goal, our mission, to spread life into the depths of this existence. We just can’t take for granted how rare life may be.
So the solution? We need to colonise space. Explore the stars that have taunted humanity with their immense distances. The technology to accomplish this is a long way off, so of course, it would be best to start off a little closer to home, the solar system.
The problem? Money. Unfortunately our economy runs on money, and to travel into space via chemical rockets is no cheap affair.

Gravity control is our answer. It’s a game changer, as it states on NASAs website;
‘If you could control gravity or inertial forces, you would have a propulsion breakthrough’
It’s an incredibly cheaper way to get material into space, its vital for humanities survival.
Onto my idea. It’s based on a few things which we can be certain on.
Space-time interacts with itself as well as matter.
Space-time encircles all matter, when you wave your hand through the air; you are manipulating the space-time around you.
Movement of mass also drags space-time, which is called frame dragging.
I believe that the movement of mass in a specific way will manipulate the space-time around itself which in turn will manipulate space-time at a distance.
Gravity is just an effect of space-time. So if you can manipulate space-time, you can manipulate gravity.
Robert L Forward worked on many projects in his life. Some of which were anti gravitational devices. An extract from his work describes a rough analogy of the kind of motion I’m attempting to create:
‘The General Relativistic Antigravity Machine consists of a torus of dense mass which is turning inside-out like a smoke ring. A mass with this motion, according to Einstein’s theory, “drags the metric” through the centre of the torus. Unidirectional general relativistic forces arise which are equivalent to gravity, and may be used to neutralize planetary surface gravity or as a space propulsion system.’
I have been building parts of my idea over the past months; however my problem is not only money, but finding the time to spend on it.
The funds raised will be used to develop my idea as well as support me while I take time off work. I’m hopeful I could build a prototype within six months.
Ultimately I aim to create an observable affect that can be demonstrated to other investors. After all to make practical use of this machine could cost millions in development.
Finally i must digress to those reading this that this may not work. I’m passionate about this and its benefits, but it is possible that what I’m talking about is impossible. It is possible that it is possible, but my design will not achieve the desired affects. Lastly and personally my favourite path, it is possible that it will work.
I will continue to be involved in this project regardless of the fate of this application. If I fail to raise the funds it will take a lot longer, but i am committed to this.
Thank you for your time taken to read this, hopefully we can make this reality.
