Hi everyone!
Some of you may have already heard me with indie-rockers Saint Motel, with Chris Schlarb’s critically acclaimed ‘Psychic Temple’ project or with a host of other talented artists I’m fortunate to play with.
I’m excited to announce however, that my debut album ‘Phantoms’ is mixed and mastered, and ready to meet your ears! After careful consideration with my stellar producer and collaborator Chris Schlarb, we’ve decided to push a vinyl release. Now don’t worry, it’s still coming out digitally! We just wanted to give this record the chance to really shine in all it’s analog glory. After all:
1. We recorded the album in the beautiful Cammilleri Hall, designed by master acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota, responsible for the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
2. Chris did a full analog mixdown of the album. That’s right, no plugins or digital patches here, just tapes and circuits (although there are plenty of electronic elements).
3. Olivia Hemaratanatorn (www.dontmeanmaybe.com) is shooting an incredible dual exposure image for the album cover.
4. The legendary Roger Seibel at SAE Mastering in Phoenix, Arizona made all of the final touches on the album. This is the same man behind records by Sun Ra, Modest Mouse, Death Cab For Cutie, Bon Iver and even live reissues of Coleman Hawkins and Charlie Parker.
I want to stress that we aren’t funding the recording here, merely a vinyl pressing (which it turns out, is expensive)! So even by pre-ordering a digital copy, you are helping to make the vinyl pressing a reality.
The album features: Chris Schlarb (producer, guitar), Carey Frank (piano), Ana Barreiro (drums), John Snow (bass) and Sam Hoffman (guitar).
Thanks for being a part of it!
