TripNut.com’s incredible desktop site is already online (Log-in and check it out. It’s FREE!) but the Company is moving as fast as possible to develop mobile platforms and to scale up its servers to enable millions of travelers around the world to access TripNut’s amazing functionality and to participate in the TripNut Community.
TripNut.com is an antidote to the “canned” travel services offered by the dominant players in today’s online travel industry.
Our unique combination of “high tech” and “high touch” provides every TripNut Member with access to convenient online planning and booking tools, but also enables Members to connect directly with other Members, with professional travel agents and with tens of thousands of travel and hospitality companies at every destination you can think of.
Instead of narrowing travel choices and opportunities to services offered by a small circle of tied – and sometimes controlled partners – like the dominant players do, TripNut.com is an open platform that extends, widens, deepens and enhances the world of travel.
It is also has a huge environmental impact on a global basis. Hot competition in the tourism sector drives new development which often results in habitat destruction, ecological disruption and the exploitation of local people.
So, TripNut.com does not employ the usual “dream and glamour” approach used by the industry; it’s a no-nonsense community for travelers, travel agents and small business owners where the truth about travel lies at the very heart of what we do.
Member-sharing of their travel experiences and knowlege is vital to TripNut’s mission – not only as a means of helping travelers learn more about travel destinations, but to expose problems in the industry and to lobby for sustainable and fair tourism development.
TripNut’s personal features include:
TripNut.com believes in rewarding Members who help grow the TripNut Community. So we have developed various programs and features to incentivize member participation and to create fun and excitement for everyone.
Members can earn by inviting others to join the TripNut Community and then use to lower their own cost of travel.
A constant stream of easy-to-enter contests that offer fantastic travel rewards to winners.
A revenue-generating program for Members who refer local travel and hospitality businesses to the Community.
In the future, we will also enable travel agents and travel and hospitality suppliers to reward members with TripNut Points, and we will develop new ways Members can spend, transfer and donate points as they see fit.
Since we began the development of the TripNut.com social travel platform we can count a number of significant achievments:
The Company has also negotiated a number of commercial partnerships with some of the most innovative travel companies in the world.
New partnerships will be announced in 2015. (We can’t wait to tell you…!)
Practicing law just wasn’t in the cards for Vian Andrews, TripNut.com’s Founder and CEO. After graduating law school – at a time when typerwriters and word processors were the tools of the trade, Vian founded the first legal research company in North America. He sold the business just as the Internet was taking hold, and started a company to develop Graphical Interfaces for Internet users.
A couple of years later, Vian was run over by a car and forced into a prolonged period of recovery. Rather than idle away his time, however, he began working with his daughter on a travel portal she was developing for Italy. Realizing that the entire travel industry would have to move online, he began creating the unique, integrated platform which now underlies TripNut.com.
Bringing his legal, business and tech development skills to TripNut.com has enabled TripNut to move quickly to ensure it’s role as a prime mover in social travel.
