iCrowdNewswire - Jul 30, 2015

may21-venue_participants The Soho Loft Media Group, Victoria Global and the FundingPost jointly present the summer conference  of angels and venture capitalists on August 6, 2015 in New York City Startup entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, corporate and angel investors who fund early stage entrepreneurs, service providers, media professionals and academia will meet in New York City for the groundbreaking NYC Venture Capital & Angel Conference. This half day event will take place on Thursday, 6 August 2015 at La Marina, 348 Dyckman Street (on the Hudson), New York City. The event will showcase some of the latest early stage angel groups and venture funds in the New York City area. The conference will feature discussions around investing in early stage ventures with an in depth look at early stage investment trends and the leading investment sectors for venture capitalists and angel investors. According to Chairman of LDJ Capital, The Soho Loft Media Group and Victoria Global  David Drake, “Venture capitalists and angels serve as funding sources for various stages in the development of a startup. This means that angel investments play a vital role in supporting startups. And for entrepreneurs, this means availability of capital is no longer the issue. Rather, the issue is how they can gain access to financing from venture capitalists and  angels. This is why it is necessary that entrepreneurs understand the behaviour of each funding source when it comes to industry preferences, investment stage, time as well as costs required to close a deal. These are some of the issues that this conference will be focusing on.” The agenda for the NYC Venture Capital & Angel Conference combines an optional lunch workshop with panel discussions and a networking session over cocktail. The optional lunch workshop is scheduled to take place before the conference starts, at 11am to 1pm. The Workshop will focus on pitching a business idea and is designed to destruct participant’s elevator pitch completely then reconstruct it into a concise, clean two-minute elevator pitch that provides investors with all the necessary information they need to make an informed decision about investing in a company. Participants of this workshop will get an opportunity to use their newly designed elevator pitch to pitch their projects to a panel of investors, in person during the event. In the afternoon, conference attendees will engage a panel of new and seasoned investors in discussions on topics like “Investing in Early-Stage Ventures: Meeting Investors, Pitching them and what it takes for them to give you a Check”, “Early-State Investment Trends”, “Hot Sectors for VCs and Angels”, “Important factors that Investors consider in an Investment”, and “The best things and worst things that Entrepreneurs can do to capture the attention of Investors”. The conference will end with a networking cocktail party where conference attendees will network with investor panelists. Various speakers  are  lined up for  this event. Welcome remarks will be made by Ray Mercedes who is the Vice President of  Business Development at Hinduja Global Solutions and Ed McLaughlin who is the Founder and CEO at Blue Sunsets. The event will be moderated by David J Sorin who is a Partner at McCarter English.
