PROJECT CHROMAZONE
Maison DNA is all about A as in Art, and following a successful year as Newport’s premiere purveyor of quality vintage clothing, the team at the House of Designer Genes is proud to announce the start of Project Chromazone, a program tailor made from a cultural cloth woven on looms of local inspiration.
In the true spirit of artistic freedom, Maison DNA has established an in-house gallery located at 64 Spring Street, Newport, RI to serve as a stage for musicians, painters, film makers, fashion designers, photographers and all those who wish to share their talents with the world.
Why fund this project?
By funding this project, you have a hand in helping Maison DNA to create a free and open venue that is vital to musicians, painters, film makers, fashion designers, photographers and other creatives living in the Newport area. A safe, inviting and uncensored environment that aids in creating a strong sense of community, collaboration and healing through a unified desire to create and express is a basic need for many artistic individuals. Most importantly, Maison DNA’s Project Chromazone allows imaginative minds the chance to make money by doing what they are passionate about. As Vivienne Westwood’s Ethical Fashion Initiative states: This is not charity, this is work.
How your funding will directly aid the project:
Funding directly offsets the costs of promoting and facilitating events that in turn allow local artists and musicians a creative platform and space to promote their work such as weekly Open Mic Nights and monthly Art Happenings. Your support allows Project Chromazone to maintain the Maison DNA Gallery and purchase supplies for artisans who otherwise cannot afford the basics. For jewelry makers and clothing designers that sell their wares at our store, funding will offset the costs of creating price tags and buying racks to help better visually merchandise their products. As we branch into film, a camera and laptop are planned purchases.
Purity of purpose is the sole prerequisite for participation in Project Chromazone, open to creative visionaries who are enthusiastic about spreading a new message of innovation, inner expression and entrepreneurial success via a path often forgotten or marginalized by modern society. The ancient Greeks assigned the word chroma to mean color, and in Maison DNA’s unique zone, a vast rainbow of reality will not only be encouraged but explored.
All interested individuals are invited to stop by Maison DNA for more details (Tues. – Sunday from 12:30 to 4:30 pm) or follow Project Chromazone’s progress and events atwww.maisondna.com
