My project has been running for around two years now, being a mother, auntie, sibling and daughter of somebody on the spectrum I know from personal experience the ripple effect autism can have on families, often families feel lost and alone with little or no support, that’s why I created “autism isolation no more” we are a family ordinated group even the extended families are encouraged to get involved. This is a grass root cause that one day could be so much more….one day I dream of a world without exclusion
At autism isolation no more We aim to provide a safe and secure environment where the children can truly be themselves , provide sympathic understanding, listening to and sharing experiences, provide respite play for the siblings as well as the child with autism, create strong support network, reducing feelings of isolation raise awareness of the condition and the impact it has on its families, we promote positive change for autism, and signpost individuals to other resources and professionals, offer care in the community by way of home visits, social evening, online digital inclusion
