Asylum is powerful message for those on their own journey of healing. We hope this film will resonate with people going through their own mental process of healing to inspire them and remind them that they are not alone. Your past doesn’t define you but what you do with it does. And you can raise above it and become far more stronger from it.
Although based on true events, Asylum is an entirely fictional story exploring the correlation between domestic violence and mental illness. These social issues feed off each other and are brought to life in our production. Melinda hopes it delivers a very powerful message too; for those on a similar journey, she has a message; “You are not Alone; I See You and I Hear You.”
We are planning to submit it to various film festival. Hopefully, it’ll get some distribution interested and get picked up for distribution. After the film festival cirque we will do a screening back in Washington state for all those who have supported us along the way to say, thank you.
