Elecyr provides local energy independence for homes and businesses. The combination of solar power, smart batteries, and high voltage DC power distribution makes this possible.
The problem with solar power is that the sun doesn’t shine all the time. Almost all solar power today gets sent back to the electric grid as kind of a virtual battery. This no longer works. Even now, in some places, half the power is generated from rooftop solar and the grid has no place to send it. As a result, the market for solar power combined with energy storage is projected to grow, during the next four years, from $100M today to $2.8B. 35% of this market is storage with residential energy storage projected as $735M in 2018.
Unlike systems designed for short time backup only following power outages, Elecyr’s systems are designed for energy independence. Elecyr power systems are autonomous islands, powered primarily by solar power and backed up if desired by power from the electric grid or generators.
The company’s initial customers are the US Army for forward operating base microgrids, residential Zero Net Energy, and 380 volt datacenters.
