NEW LIFE FOR STREET CHILDREN

Bangladesh is a nation with population of 158.5 million of which 51.3 million (32%) are children from age 0-14 years old. Almost 15 million (29%) of these children live in city slums and some 2 million of them are dwellers of verious city streets. Over 5% of the slum and street children will die before they reach the age of 5 and majority of the surviving ones will eventually enter into the market of child labour and prostitution. Their sufferings are endless and they are constantly exposed to health risks, social threats, all sorts of dangers such as abuse, drugs, child traffic and child prostitution. They are extremely neglected in the society and thus, the number of street children are increasing every year.

In 2014, HCI started New Life Center in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. This area is one of the highest in terms of density of slum and street children. New Life is a youth oriented project in which 80 street children have been receiving education, daily nutrition, cloths, medical facilities, learning social values and etiquette as well as being integrated into society by participating in national and cultural festivities, sports, arts and other activities.

After 6 months pilot project, HCI is proud to inform you that we have had a tremendous success in changing the lives of those 80 street children and we are in dire need of your support to continue this project. We need to raise $13516 to ensure that these children are off of dwelling on streets for one more year and give them a new hope to live. With only $175 you can support one street child for one entire year in the New Life Center and help make a difference…

HCI is a federally registered charity and all your Canadian and American donations are 100% tax deductible. HCI has the lowest Administrative cost among the Canadian charities (>10%) However, HCI does not charge any Admin cost for this project so 100% of the funds will directly go to the project.
