Crossing Savage–A Screenplay: Western scientists are on the brink of a revolutionary discovery

iCrowdNewswire - Jul 15, 2015

Crossing Savage–A Screenplay

This campaign is about funding a screenplay and marketing it to the film industry—I need your help to bring this project to life and see Crossing Savage interpreted on the big screen. This award-winning and best-selling debut thriller has fans raving:

“An action-packed adventure ripped from the headlines. Crossing Savage reads chillingly close to reality as the author teases us with the possibility of energy independence and how it plays into the balance of world power. With Russia’s recent takeover of Crimea, the nation’s villainous role in Crossing Savage feels terrifyingly plausible.”Elizabeth Turnbull, Goodreads

“Author Dave Edlund has created a compelling, five-star novel filled with intrigue and mystery. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat anticipating the laws of ‘unintended consequences’…”   Pacific Book Review

“The book is fast-paced and lively, reminiscent of a Tom Clancy thriller, with locations and action taking place all over the globe.”  The US Review of Books

“The novel flowed flawlessly to the end, and kept the reader wanting more page after page. Though the story is fictional, the science behind Crossing Savage is spot on. Plus, the military scenes could not have been written better than if Tom Clancy wrote them himself.”Stephen Martino, author of The New Reality

“Buckle up for roller-coaster action as Peter Savage gets plunged into a whirlpool of covert ops when his family become pawns in an international race for power and greed inflamed by the drive for alternative fuel sources. With plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you guessing, Crossing Savage is a great read!”   Gary W. Stout, Author of Serial Samaritan and Zone of Fixation

I’ve tried marketing the novel directly to producers in the film industry, but they simply are not interested in reading a novel and imagining how it might be converted into a blockbuster screenplay.

So how does a book get converted into a movie? A key step is the screenplay, more commonly known as the script. The screenplay describes the movements and actions of the characters in addition to the dialog; it also must describe the locations and shooting directions. Marketing a novel to Hollywood is more likely to be successful if the screenplay is already completed.

The differences between a novel and a screenplay are many and significant. Screenwriters have special skills and experience, which is why it is important to hire a good screenwriter. The proceeds from this project will be used to interview and receive quotes from several screenwriters. From the group, one will be hired to write the screenplay. With screenplay in hand, I will renew the marketing efforts through multiple channels (seeking a film agent while also working referrals from both my publicist and publisher).

Book synopsis: With a plot that seems ripped from today’s headlines, author Dave Edlund has meticulously researched this action-packed thriller that whisks the reader along a deadly trail extending from Central Oregon though Washington D.C., Moscow, and Caracas.

As the world’s leading alternative energy researchers are methodically assassinated, Peter Savage and his friend Jim Nicolaou race against the clock to preserve the secret that promises to change the landscape of the world… or start a global war. In this timely, heart-thumping thriller,Crossing Savage presents the theory of abiogenic oil production and the terrifying array of unintended consequences that accompany the belief that energy independence can be fully realized.

From the Aleutian Islands and the cold waters of the North Pacific, to the steamy jungles of Ecuador… from the halls of power in Washington and Moscow to a deadly showdown in the skies over Caracas, this edge-of-your-seat thriller brings readers face-to-face with the promise of energy independence—and its true cost.
