Hi, My name is Amelia Harvey.
I’m 20 years old and I have been doing karate for 17 years. I got involved in karate because my dad is a karate instructor, but it turns out I loved it just as much as he does.
When I started karate I knew nothing about competing and didn’t really think representing my country would be an option for me, but after alot of hard work, and a lot of failure, I first represented England in Kumite in 2012, and since then I have fought individually at two Junior European Karate Championships, gaining fifth place, and one Senior World Karate Championships, losing in the Quarter Finals, and a Senior European Karate Championships.
I am currently trying to raise funds to go to the Junior World Karate Championships, which will be held in Indonesia in November. This championships will mean a lot to me because it will be the last time I am able to represent England as a junior competitor.
Karate is a self-funded sport, so for every time we get selected to go to a championship we must be able to fund it ourselves and this why I need your help.
Your help will help me on my way to achieving my dreams of becoming World Karate Champion!
Thank you
