Zohra, Help us to educate Blind Children in India
In the Name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
as-salāmu ‘alaykum wa raHmatullāhi wa barakātuhu
Blind children are time and again the most neglected class within our communities. They are often looked down upon and regarded as a burden to their parents and society at large. They depend largely on the charity of others and often in India survive through begging.
In view of this, in the year 2009, it was decided to open a school within the al-Madina Welfare & Education Society, in Memari, West Bengal, India for the blind and partially blind students, where they can receive Islamic education based on the Qur’ān and Sunnah. The principle objective being that instead of showing pity to the blind, we give them dignity and honour in helping them become productive members of society which will enable them to earn a living and not rely on others.
We currently have 17 children studying at the centre and hope to add many more children. We are in need of:
– More resources for the blinds in the form of books
– Better facilities and teachers to educate them
Please help us make a real difference in these childrens’ lives and give them a truly brighter future. Your charity will hopefully go a long way and we hope that Allāh returns it to you a thousand fold in this life and the next.
