The Live Like Blaine Foundation honors Blaine Steinberg, a Dartmouth College junior who died suddenly in March 2014, just weeks shy of her 21st birthday. Its mission is to empower and inspire young women to become leaders through fitness and athletics.
Blaine was a captain of the Penn Charter girls’ lacrosse and soccer teams, a first team All-InterAc player in both sports and a U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American. When her lacrosse career ended after multiple concussions her freshman year at Dartmouth, she continued to challenge herself through Crossfit. Burpees are a staple of many Crossfit workouts. Through this challenge, our team will perform burpees during Spring Break. We hope to get in shape, have fun and enjoy some friendly competition – all of which Blaine loved. Additionally we hope to raise money for a great cause so we can help girls just like us and Blaine! The Julie Foudy Leadership Foundation and Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative are among the charities Live Like Blaine will be supporting this year.
We thank you for supporting our efforts to raise awareness and funds for the Live Like Blaine Foundation.
