Scimitar Global Systems Corporation
Scimitar Global Systems Corporation was recently created by Tayber Corp to bring a number of IPs and technologies to market as a single product line targeting the as-yet untapped small transport fleet telematics market.
Dan Taylor, the CEO of Scimitar has been studying the market since 2012, and came to the conclusion that the industry needed a next generation platform targeted at small fleets that would become an integral part of the business process.
With the introduction of the FMCSA Electronic Logging Device regulations scheduled for Q4/2015 this market will be expanded to 4.3 million trucks. 65% of those trucks will belong to fleets of 200 trucks and under. Scimitar will target this segment by combining our Hours of Service software, Sygic powered navigation, industrial automotive tablet, fleet management, and small business platform into a cohesive system. This strategy will bring more value to the small fleets and owner-operators than our competition, and will allow us to convey a clear value message.
To this end we have acquired Sable Express EOBR platform from Sable Truck Systems. With additional investment we will add a full suite of communications and business automation capabilities.
Our low overhead network agreements allow us to operate as an MVNO and deploy our devices on Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
Our manufacturing capabilities let us build dust-proof, water resistant (IP67) rugged 7-inch industrial automotive tablets at $280 per unit at a maximum capacity of 50,000 units per month. Shrink-wrapped retail boxes with vehicle diagnostics cable, mount, Hours of Service software, and award winning navigation are expected to retail for more than $500. Comparable systems sell for $800 – $1200. Our current projections are based on monthly service pricing that puts our products at near 1/2 TCO of our nearest competitors.
