Thank you for visiting the ‘Open to All’ page. We are seeking support for one of Helston’s most-loved community spaces.
The Epworth Hall is an important place. Historically part of a vibrant Methodist Chapel, but leased and operated by a charitable committee since 2005, it has become a hub of entertainment, community involvement and activity for local young people.
It is the main home of several key community organisations, providing drama training for children and young people, sports activities, live events, social activities, community fundraising and a base for town celebrations.
Hundreds of people – aged 5 to 82 – regularly use the building, participating in activities or attending events.
Open to All is a programme of works to ensure that we can continue to provide the excellent activities that go on now, as well welcome a new set of user groups and new activities.
Phase 1 of the programme will provide proper disabled access.
As a true community space, the Epworth Hall seeks to be open and welcoming to all. At present the access arrangements are not what anyone involved would want. A scheme has been drawn up to fix this.
We already have brilliant support in place – including £56,000 from Helston Town Council – but need to put in place one last amount of money to include things like a lift and proper finishes.
Help us to raise £5,000 to get the improvements off to a brilliant start.
