The very notion of a “delicious pot of meat” on the lunch or dinner table speaks to the heart and mind of most South Africans, whether it’s called potjiekos, Inyama yenkomo, Bredie, Umleqwa, Curry and rice, Pap en vleis or any other name.
The well-known typical “Curry and rice” concept will be followed, but with the exception that a variety of meat dishes can be ordered with or without curry, and served on a choice of rice, mash, pap or bread, with sides of fresh crispy salads and vegetables.
Our famous Hot Pot, full of delicious curry. | Hearty Meals to please anyone. |
Something Sweet…
South Africans also love their pudding after a good meal, and in this instance we will offer Pancakes with delicious and creative sweet fillings, like Banana-Caramel, Strawberry-Cheesecake and Cherry-Chocolate.
Delicious Desserts. |
As we reach our milestones we will add to our menu and complement our dishes with ‘Vetkoek’, sandwiches, ‘Jaffels’ and Hot Subs, as well as expanding our variety of desserts at our “dessert bar” and establishing our own in-house Biltong kiosk where we will be selling delicious Biltong, Dry wors and a variety of dried fruit and nuts.
Eating healthy is an ever-increasingly and important aim of most South Africans, and although Hot Pot will offer typical convenient “fast food” our delicious foods will always be freshly prepared, from the best quality fresh ingredients, with no artificial colorants or preservatives.
We use only the freshest ingredients. | Hot and freshly prepared. |
Giving back…
The Hot Pot concept will not only be to provide our customers with a healthy hearty family meal that is convenient and delicious, but also to reach out to the underprivileged in our society who are struggling to make ends meet.
Giving from the heart. | Lerato, our little friend. |
Milestone 1 – we reach this milestone and our project is “A” for “Away!”
R25 000
Open our first Hot Pot Take away shop in Jeffreys Bay with the basics we need to start our business:
The funding will be applied to purchase a stove, two microwave ovens, a bain-marie food warmer, pots, pans, cutlery, and display fridge, as well as building a counter, advertising signs, light boxes, and the design/branding and printing of our menus.
From our own pocket we will provide a double door fridge and large chest freezer, computer, and stainless steel tables.
This means we can start operating to sell our meals to the public.
Milestone 2 – we reach this milestone and our project is “B” for “Better yet!”
R80 000
This will enable us to:
Purchase a motor cycle to enable us to deliver to our customers
Open our unique in-shop biltong kiosk where we will be selling delicious freshly made biltong and dry-wors products.
Add some extra tables and chairs for our patrons to sit at while they wait for their food,5 new light boxes for our menus in-store and an industrial mixer for our dessert-making.
Get our website up and running
Once we reach goal 2 we will also open our “Hot pot Training academy” where we can train local unemployed and underprivileged people to help them with securing jobs to permanently alleviate the cycle of poverty they find themselves in.
Milestone 3 – we reach this milestone and our project is “C” for “Crikey!! Look how far we’ve come!”
R125 000
This will enable us to:
Purchase a small second-hand delivery vehicle, to enable us to deliver over a wider area (Marina Martinique, Paradise Beach etc.)
Purchase a soft-serve ice-cream machine for our shop
Add some *bling* to the shop in the form of light-fittings.
Adding new items to our menu and upgrading the menus.
Any funds over and above our milestones will be used for expanding into a bigger space to upgrade our training academy and finally to enable patrons to sit down and enjoy our delicious meals!
In recognition of your support, certain “perks” have been made available when you ‘Browse & Buy Rewards’.
