My name is Richard Barnes and I have been developing my woodworking business over the past few months. In a small workshop at the bottom of the garden, I have created welly boot stands, planters, trugs, garden benches, children’s toys, bird boxes and bat boxes and have more ideas in the pipeline.
I really enjoy my woodwork and have been able to make and sell successfully a small number of items. Those who have bought them have appreciated the quality and usefulness of the items. I think it is really good to have things made out of natural materials rather than the manufactured plastics that are so common these days.
The aim of this project is to raise funds to build a new workshop, with more space to work and for storage. At the moment, I am doing a lot of work outside as the weather is good but when it rains or in the colder months I won’t be able to do much unless I have a new building. We have enough land to build a purpose made timber workshop that will be adequate for all my needs and enable the business to flourish. The main photo shows the area that will be transformed followed by an example of what the completed workshop will look like. All of the money raised will go towards the purchase and construction of this building.
For those who are able to support me, I will offer handmade items as well as generous discounts on everything that I sell. I would really appreciate the support of those who are able to help this dream become a reality.
