Personal Story

I’m a young entrepreneur who recognized his passion for business in the 10th grade. I started out making my own chocolate at home and sold them in my high school for different prices. I really enjoyed interacting with my classmates and making great deals for them.

I was born and raised in Cali, Colombia; a beautiful warm city located in northern South America. I grew up well educated and learned many lessons through my experiences, leading to me having a firm understanding of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

When I was a child I always dreamed about living in NYC. At the age of 20, I followed my dreams and moved to New York in the fall of 2012. Being able to make my dreams a reality gave me the confidence to continue dreaming and form my company Sweepbeat. My goal with Sweepbeat is to build a great online community that contributes to local communities, by providing services.

Sweepbeat is a start-up company that seeks to improve the way people order services for personal or professional home needs. We offer two platforms our website and the mobile application platform, anyone can order services from different professionals such as; Housekeeping, plumbing, electrical jobs, and moving among other home improvement and renovation services.

I decide to start this business in august of 2014 with 4 friends with one goal in mind. We want to help people by introducing an online product which aims to make everyday menial tasks more efficient and automated. I also want to eradicate bad business practices and hardships often experienced by individuals who work in the cleaning services sector. My mother experienced this first hand when a man in charge of regulating cleaning jobs asked my mother out. She declined his offer, and then found herself out of work. Having experienced this, played a factor in me creating this company so I can offer trust-worthy and honest work to these often marginalized women.

We operate through our website and mobile application platform. We provide access to the general public and connect independent professional contractors, who are based locally based and are willing to provide their professional services online.

One of the biggest challenges we currently face is access to capital to grow. Our goal is to onboard key employees in order to improve the development aspects of our two platforms, making the process more efficient and put out a top-notch product . We also plan on promoting Sweepbeat with the best marketing practices. Our target market are: college students, mid-age adults, professionals and housewives/single moms, who all appreciate time and efficiency. These markets are more inclined to hire someone to execute their needs to free up their time.

What is the purpose of this loan?

The loan will help us hire highly qualified engineers for web-development, along with hiring a marketing team, in order to maximize the gains from our campaigns.

With this loan we will be able to position our brand in the market to start offering services. With this initial investment will be able to finish our first mobile viable product and gain traction in the market.
