Human errors in manual time card calculations can cost businesses up to 8% of their annual gross payroll, according to a study by the American Payroll Association. A new solution has been created to remedy this: Bean-time.
“Time Tracking Sucks,” said Makana Dumlao, co-founder of Bean-time. “Its necessary, but everyone I know hates it. That’s why we created Bean-time.”
Bean-time’s software connects Bluetooth™ beacons to popular time tracking apps on your smartphone. It allows time tracking to happen in the background. Simply, place a beacon where you want to log time, and the Bean-time takes care of the rest. Starting a timer is as simple as showing up. When you’re done, just leave.
“We think our technology can help eliminate the human errors associated with time tracking,” said Andrew McKnight, co-founder of Bean-time. “We are also really excited about the potential for our technology and we think the community can help. That’s why we’re making it open source.”
Bean-time is currently running a crowdfunding campaign to engage the community and raise funds. Find out more here.
