Incoming: stories from veterans in their own words
“If you don’t tell your story, someone else will.” – Army veteran and author Brooke King.
So Say We All, San Diego’s storytelling and literary arts non-profit, has partnered with our hometown public broadcaster KPBS to produce a brand new radio program featuring true stories from America’s veterans, told in their own words, directly from their own mouths:Incoming. EVERY FRIDAY at 12:30pm on KPBS 89.5FM!!!
Thanks to support through KPBS’s Explore Program we’ve already produced 8 episodes ofIncoming, available May 15th on KPBS.org or incomingradio.org, each featuring original stories from veteran writers across the country and scored by incredible local musicans, but we need your help to finish the series and give these important stories the spotlight they diserve.
Supporting our Summer fund drive by donating and advocating to your social circles ensures we’ll able to realize the vision shared by our army of volunteer teachers, editors, and production assistants: the creation of brilliant original art right here in San Diego from populations that have been talked about more than they’ve actually been heard from.
Your contribution also helps us sustain all our awesome performance, publishing, and education programs we already offer that also provide platforms and support for veteran writing (VAMP Showcase, Greenroom Writers Workshop, Long Story Short, Black Candies, The Radvocate, and more, more, always more!) so on behalf of our staff, Board of Directors, and all those we serve, thank you!
