Redray Frazier New Album: Blood in the Water

My name is Redray Frazier and I’m making a record!

I’ve been making music for most of my life.  I started out singing in my dad’s church at a young age, worked on a project produced by Cole and Clivilles of C+C Music Factory, had a major label deal on Epic/550 Records with my family band called The Funky Poets, toured the country with soul/rock band Mosaic, then toured the world singing in David Byrne’s (formally of The Talking Heads) band.  After recording my first record as a solo artist in 2007, I’m finally in the process of releasing my second solo album, but I need your help to do it.  I’m so excited to share these songs. and with your contributions I’ll be able to do it the right way.

What I Need & What You Get

As it turns out, making & supporting a record independently gets expensive really fast!  I’ve set a goal of $20,000.  I’ve come out of pocket for the studio time, mastering, and a short run of promo CDs, but there are still the costs of:

  • Mastering for vinyl
  • Vinyl and CD duplication
  • Promotion and Marketing
  • Merchandise (t-shirts, posters, stickers, etc)
  • Video Production
  • Remixes for singles
  • Distribution

In return for your contributions you’ll receive anything from:

  • Advanced digital download of the entire “Blood In The Water” album
  • Vinyl recording of the “Blood In The Water” album
  • My vocal support on YOUR album
  • House concert with me and full band
  • A private viewing of the “Blood In the Water” official video w/ my band & I
  • and MUCH MUCH MORE!!

Take advantage of some of these perks and have fun with them.  If we don’t make our goal, Indiegogo will take a whopping 9% (instead of 4% if we do).  It may not sound like much, but believe me, it is!

The Impact Of You

Making this record is so important to me and I have loved everything about the process.  I have great band mates in Ezra Holbrook, Matt Brown, Jeff Baxter, Tom Nunes, and David van Overeem (aka DJ Klavical).  Individually and collectively, we’ve worked on a lot of records, but I’ve never been as proud as I am of this one. We’ve poured all of our energy into “Blood In The Water” and the songs sound incredible!  I’m also pressing the record to vinyl so that you can experience this body of work the same way I experienced all of my favorite soul records growing up.  With your participation and contributions, I’ll have the potential to share it with the world. Ultimately, it means I’ll be able to leave something behind, a true labor of love, long after I’m gone.

Risks & Challenges

This is scary! Realizing I need your help and having to request it is daunting.  The biggest challenge is to put my fear and vulnerability aside, and risk asking for your contributions. I’m inviting you…ASKING you to be a part of this team and get involved in this project. I truly appreciate your participation, be it large or small. Your help with the funding is of great value, and it’s the only way I’m going to reach my goal.
