This is a very special opportunity to travel to Peru in August for almost 3 weeks, spending time in sacred areas around Cusco and in the high Andes. I will be traveling with a small group of companions to work with Don Americo Yabar and his son Gayle. We will also be visiting their ancestral home of Salka Wasi. “Américo is an internationally recognized Peruvian mystic and poet. Initiated by the Q’ero as a young man,he is a chakaruna, or living bridge of feeling between cultures. A master in moving energy, he is particularly adept in guiding Western minds in opening their hearts to connect their filaments with the Cosmos..”Learn more here.

We will experience energetic healing and learning, connect with nature and participate in a cultural exchange with the Q’ero people of the Andes. Our presence there and exchange of energy helps to encourage and keep their culture alive.

Over the past 5 years I have been meditating with and learning energetic processes from my friend Oakley Gordon. Oakley has been working with Don Americo for over 20 years and has traveled to Peru many times. He is our trip planner, organizer and guide. Last summer he published a book which may serve as a guide for anyone interested in this path.

“The Andean Cosmovision: A Path for Exploring Profound Aspects of Ourselves, Nature, and the Cosmos”by Oakley E. Gordon

Oakley also has a wonderful blog with all of the meditations and musings on the “Salka” path. Salka is a Quechua word for natural or undomesticated energy. The wolf is salka, while the dog is domesticated. A condor is undomesticated while a chicken is domesticated. Domestication is like a veneer over the salka energy which is a natural, free energy. During this trip, our intent will be to explore and uncover our salka nature.

Last summer, Oakley brought Don America to Utah for a workshop near Boulder, Utah. This was an amazing experience and I knew that I would take the next opportunity to travel to Peru. The Andean Cosmovision has been informing and unfolding beautifully in my life and I am excited for the chance for immersion! Thank you for your contributions.

Salt Lake Salka is a blossom of the Poetic Salka Movement on the planet (founded by the Peruvian mystic don Americo Yabar) and a self-appointed chapter of the Andean Mystic Association. We are a community of individuals brought together by the desire to bring more salka awareness into the world. We can also be found on Facebook:Salt Lake Salka on Facebook
