Archived: New Science-based Documentary Aims to Raise Awareness About Genetically Modified Organisms

iCrowdNewswire - Jun 4, 2015

Following off the heels of March Against Monsanto, a global anti-GMO protest, a new film has been launched on Kickstarter that aims to tackle misinformation and seeks to educate and raise awareness about the promise of genetically modified organisms.

Vancouver, Canada

Genetically Modified Information is an independent, science-based and transnational documentary that tackles the controversial topic of GMOS.

The film is transnational, giving a voice to the voiceless: the farmers and citizens in the global south who could benefit the most from the technology, but often these are the people whose voices are not being heard.

This film will be travelling to India, Kenya, and the Philippines to speak to farmers and researchers and learn about how GMOs have the potential to improve the lives of the average farmer and citizen.

The film is fully independent, and will not be receiving any funding from for-profit companies. This is contrary to recent documentaries about GMOs which were funded by the organic industry to create fear and uncertainty about GMOs.
