Following My Passion for Cultural Experience
My name is Isabelle, and I am a 14 year-old NYCityschooler. This means that I am officially a home schooler, however I travel around New York City to classes with various teachers, locations, and subjects. I set my educational goals with my parents, who not only set a balanced educational plan for the year, but who also encourage me to spend time on my artistic passions – playing piano, singing, and acting.
I have been studying piano with Renée Guerrero for three years, and was invited to join her for an intensive piano training for the International Summer Training Program at the Narnia Music Festival in Narni, Italy from July 19 – August 2. The program involves the piano instruction as well as an immersion into Italian culture.
“The result is a rich program of events, which will include lessons, workshops, master classes, conferences, exhibits, guided tours, and concerts and shows in the most prestigious halls and in the most suggestive archaeological sites of Narni.”
Information on the festival can be found at:
I will begin my time abroad by spending two weeks in Freiburg, Germany with my grandmother, Elisabeth, who will encourage my emerging study of the German language. Freiburg is in the heart of the Black Forest, with rich opportunities for studying the culture, practicing my German, and soaking up all of the lovely sights, tastes, and smells.
Although my parents are supporting me in this opportunity, I need to raise money to help with the costs of tuition, travel, and lodging.
I’m reaching out to you for assistance with my fundraising. I am happy to take any financial donations – because it all adds up in the end. Whether or not you are able to make a finanicial donation, please consider sharing this campaign on your favorite social media sites and on email.
