“Doug Hartwell of Bitybean is the real deal. He’s an entrepreneur with a strong vision – to help active young families discover their world together – and consistent execution. He has kept his word at every turn. I have complete confidence in him and his team. “
Bitybean is a socially-conscious Vermont company, dedicated to the mission of helping families get out and explore their world together.
Our launch product is an UltraCompact baby carrier that we believe is smaller and lighter than any soft-sided carrier on the market. Weighing only 8 oz and the size of a child’s water bottle, it is easily packable and portable, consistently receives rave reviews, and has won numerous important industry awards.
Bitybean is working to leverage our initial product success by developing a portfolio of ‘cleverly compact’ baby products that give parents the freedom to be ready for anything.
Doug Hartwell, Founder and CEO Background Check
Doug’s first business was at age 13, selling custom hand-made finger skateboards to his grade-shool classmates. After receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering from UMass and UVM respectively, Doug spent 15 years in the defense industry moving up the corporate ladder from engineering to program management and business development. Doug has a proven and diverse background in management of complex development programs, developing teaming relationships, and strategic planning. Doug had a eureka moment while carrying his young daughter and after careful analysis, resigned from his career in 2012 to focus his energies and skills on Bitybean full time.
