Have you ever dreamed of having your very own pocket dictator?
Dream no more – here he is! Meet Vladimir The Doll, a stuffed guy who holds everything under control. Forever young and ridiculously photogenic leader of one big country.
Stuffed Vladimir is a plush toy designed by Russian toy artist Tanya Nelmina at her small family company Tanka Toys. As she says “it’s a small piece of art that tells a story about power in its own satirical way, revealing the irony and, sometimes, the absurdity of Big Politics. It mocks the nearly sacred status of Power in Russia. While politicians play their Game of Thrones, we just try to have fun by making toys about them”.
The team has launched a project on Kickstarter to fund the first mass production of plush Vladimirs and share their toys with an international audience.
Backers may become the very first people to receive stuffed Vladimir or other rewards like unique postcard “From Russia with Fluff” or corrupted official Mr. Badass – another Tanka Toys character. There’s also an option to have a handmade Vladimir with an extra pair of underwear.
