Reclaimed Rails Brewing Company
He was a wise man who invented beer. Plato
Like many other breweries throughout this great nation, we have decided to open our doors for two main reasons: the first being the immense passion the four of us owners share for quality hand crafted beer and the second being the desire to share this passion with our surrounding communities, state and country. We all know that craft beer is on the rise. The public has spoken and asked for more flavorful beers, something that always has them grasping for more. We are starting this brewery to give you just that.
The story behind our name starts with our head brewer and Co-Owner, Dave Coy (feel free to call him DCoy). Dave is ready to “reclaim” his art of craft brewing in the Des Moines metro area. Dave was the former head brewer at Raccoon River Brewing Company. The story continues with the very building we will soon be serving Dave’s brews. This old legion hall was given some TLC from our new friends, the Baileys. Before we decided to move in, this building was going to be turned in to “Reclaim on Main”, which would sell reclaimed decor. Not to worry though, you will still be able to purchase some these hand crafted items that will be displayed throughout the brewery once the taproom is open. The last part of this story comes from the “reclaimed” railway a block away from the new brewery. This railway, along with many others throughout the state, have been transformed into bike trails, which have quickly become popular and part of Iowa’s pride. Biking and all of our surrounding community’s trails will be a huge part of our focus and support.
Imagined and located in the heart of America, and mere minutes from Iowa’s capitol of Des Moines, Reclaimed Rails Brewing Company is coming to Bondurant, Iowa. RRBC will be a tremendous addition to the popular destination town of Bondurant which is expanding at a rapid rate. Bondurant is only 3 miles from Altoona, which draws in an estimated 5.5 million visitors per year to Bass Pro Shops, Adventureland Park and Resort, and Prairie Meadows Ractrack and Casino. Altoona is on the cusp of an explosion of growth, with the Outlets of Des Moines coming to the Prairie Crossing Development near Bass Pro. This will nearly double the amount of retail space in the area, and draw in even more visitors. Des Moines is one of the hottest markets nationwide, and is home to a rapidly expanding craft beer scene, one of which RRBC will capitalize on.
RRBC’s management team is extraordinarily well-rounded in business, sales, marketing, and most importantly brewing of arguably the best hand-crafted beers available. RRBC is conservatively projected for steady, yet signifcant growth, with the potential to triple in size in its expected facility over the next several years. With a President that has a proven record of sales, and scaling companies, to a VP with social media skills, and an 11 year home-brewing background and hops farm. From a Secretary with national retail experience and banquet facility and event management, to most importantly a brewmaster with over 20 years experience as the former brewery for Raccoon River Brewing Company. Our consultant on the project is a highly qualified professional in the hospitality, restaurant, and craft brewing industry. A former GM, COO, and CFO of that craft brewery, he is also the former Banquet Manager for John Q. Hammons Hotel chains, and has been the successful managing consultant on several successful hospitality industry businesses.
RRBC will create arguably some of the best hand-crafted beers in the region. With a core selection of beers being produced, and a constant rotation of special release and seasonal beers available, our demand will never diminish. We will constantly be pushing the envelope of flavor, and adjusting our production to any predictable changes in popular beer styles to keep our beers fresh, original, and new.
RRBC will produce beer styles and profiles for everyone, from the farmer, to the banker, and everyone else. We want to be an integral part of the Bondurant/Altoona and greater Des Moines area beer scene. Local and regional restaurants are already waiting for our beer for their facilities, with other breweries and retailers are also patiently waiting for the release of our beers. Our clients are the community. They will be the hard working farmer having a drink after a long day’s work, a couple enjoying a night of relaxation, or the business professional taking a client out for a drink to sell the next great real estate land in Bondurant. Regardless of age, sex, race, or wealth, our craft beers unite those for the love of craft beer, camaradarie, and community.
