The company plans to deploy proven, clean coal technology to Southeastern Asia to convert low-value “thermal” coal into commodity products that are over 345% higher in value. Formerly know as the ENCOAL Process, the technology has been developed and tested with public and private investment exceeding $100MM over the last three decades. The parent of HectoPlant, LLC, -Hathaway Energy, Inc., has been following the deployment of the technology into China for over two years and has an outstanding relationship with the technology provider. HectoPlant, LLC is licensed to deploy up to three processing lines of the technology into SE Asia.

Products / Services

Clean Coal Conversion

Two Products: 1) a high-quality light, sweet synthetic crude oil that has many of the same characteristics of Louisiana Light Sweet (LLS) and 2) a high-quality Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) coal that is high in btu, low in volatiles and low in moisture which is ideally suited for the steel industry.

Kevin Hathaway

Mr. Hathaway has extensive experience as a project designer, manager and senior executive responsible for strategic development of high-level initiatives with the U.S. Army. As a retired Commissioned Officer and Army Aviator, Mr. Hathaway supported and led projects including the restructuring of the Army Reserve Component Aviation Force Structure. He configured and developed a first-of-its-kind distributed, collective simulation system to provide U.S. Army aircrews with enhanced collective training in synthetic environments. He carried the technology-intensive simulation system through concept, engineering, manufacturing and deployment to become a $1 billion program. Mr. Hathaway subsequently served as Assistant Program Manager for the initial production of the RAH-66 Comanche Reconnaissance Attack Helicopter with responsibility for development and commissioning of the aircraft’s production line with a team of manufacturing professionals from Boeing Philly and Sikorsky.

Robert Walty

Robert J. Walty is a skilled and experienced research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) engineer and manager that has successfully commercialized numerous emerging technologies. As VP of Business Development and Director of R&D with SGI International, Mr. Walty lead a team of four Ph.D. petroleum scientists and chemical engineers plus additional staff to develop a clean coal plus synesthetic crude oil process as part of the ENCOAL Project. A pilot plant utilizing the process was successfully operated for five years and is the baseline technology for the “Rinker Process.” A Founding Board member of C2O Technologies, LLC, Mr. Walty is an expert in the field of clean coal-to-liquid technology. In over thirty-five years of development and applied engineering experience in various product and process development assignments, Mr. Walty is ideally suited to serve as the Director of Technology for Hathaway Energy, Inc.

Vijoy Kumar

Advisor to SunCoke Energy, USA, the world’s largest independent coke manufacturer with 7 plants producing 6.5 MTPA of metallurgical coke from 2010 to the present. Prior to that Mr. Kumar was an Executive Director of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd., India, 2008 – 2009; General Manager (Chattisgarh Project) of Tata Steel, India, 2005 – 2008; Executive Vice-President (Marketing & Sales) of Kalyani Steels Ltd. (Hospet Division), India, 1998 – 2005; General Manager of Essar Steel, India, 1997 – 1998; and Regional Sales Manager of Tata Steel, India, 1981 – 1997. Mr. Kumar holds a B.E. in Metallurgy from the National Institute of Technology (Jamshedpur) and a Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Jamshedpur Technical Institute.
