ORAL HEALTHCARE FOR ALL

To provide basic dental treatment to the poor and needy people living in rural areas with a fully functioning Dental Clinic setup opened in the village with a Dentist and supporting staff. The Project aims to provide necessary dental care and medicines to the poor & the needy people free of cost and to the general population at subsidized costs thereby cross subsidizing the free dental treatment to the poor.

I have seen from close quarters while working as a Consultant with a Charitable Hospital in the rural sector, the day to day hardships borne by the poor people in receiving quality dental care treatment.  The government primary health centers (PHC) are mostly without a dental surgeon and the Charitable hospitals do not provide for a Dental Wing due to the high costs involved in their Setting up.

Also the poor patients cannot access the Private Dental Clinics because of the high costs involved in the dental treatment and are left to the mercy of the Quacks (Unqualified Professionals) to do the job that a qualified dental professional would have given to his patients.   The poor people have no choice and thus fall prey to these quacks because of the low costs involved and end up with disastrous consequences to their oral health.

It is to this section of society that I would like to target and thus bring smiles back on their face.

My Social Venture “Global Oral Health Foundation Society” is with a mission to provide for “Oral Healthcare for all”. My social venture truly espouses the human values which underlines the Project must be of the people, for the people and by the people. It should cut across caste, creed and color and be in harmony with the human race.

The Cause of undertaking Oral Health Reforms for the poor and the underprivileged living in the rural areas is to provide for the oral health and well being of all the people irrespective of cultural or religious diversity. Though this Project I, Dr. Amit Saini a Dental Surgeon as an individual have become responsible in my actions having an effect on communities outside my circle.

My Project aims to start a fully functional Dental Clinic in the village and connecting it with other 10 villages thus covering at least 11 villages where the poor can get quality dental treatment under the supervision of Dental Doctor and supporting staff at no costs. Also the middle class living in these villages and its vicinity will be to able to receive dental treatment at  subsidized charges. Thus the middle class will to a great extent cross subsidize the free dental treatment charges to the poor.
