CoBattery is a swappable battery case that eliminates the need to plug in your phone.
Are you frustrated with your iPhone’s battery life? Has your phone ever died while you were traveling, or out with friends? Do you find yourself carrying around a charger or battery pack in your pocket or purse, because you’re worried that your iPhone might die?
CoBattery is an iPhone battery case that eliminates the need to plug in your phone.CoBattery replaces conventional charging with battery swapping. The system comes with two batteries and a charging dock. One battery stays in the case, keeping your iPhone at 100%. The other battery stays in the charging dock. When you come home, swap the used battery with the one in the dock–giving you a full charge in seconds.
CoBattery supports iPhone 5, 5S, and 6. We are selling a limited quantity of early bird units right now for $60.
With CoBattery you don’t need to wait around while your phone charges. Let the battery charge while you go about your day, and swap whenever it’s convenient for you. Don’t spend your life tethered to a wall.
Each battery stores 3200 mAh (12.2 watt hours), which is more than 1.5x the size of the iPhone 6 internal battery. This mean with CoBattery installed, you have 2.5 times more battery than a regular iPhone. This gives you over two days of regular phone usage. What will you do when you never need to worry about battery life?
Additional batteries will be available for purchase, and they aren’t expensive. Buy a few extra batteries to keep in your backpack or purse, and you’ll be covered even on the longest of journeys or most unexpected of circumstances.
Ever notice how your phone battery gets worse and worse over time? Lithium-ion batteries, like the one in your iPhone, lose a little bit of capacity after each discharge/recharge cycle. In just a year of typical use, your iPhone’s battery goes through 300 cycles.
The CoBattery case protects your internal iPhone battery from this damaging cycling pattern. When you put a charged battery on your CoBattery case it will first charge the internal iPhone battery to 100% and from then on the phone will run off the battery on the case. With normal usage, your internal iPhone battery will remain at 100% charge, and your phone runs off of the CoBattery.
In case of a bad fall, the battery is designed to eject, absorbing kinetic energy and protecting your phone. We use high strength, shock resistant plastic to ensure that CoBattery protects your iPhone even during very hard falls.
CoBattery fits snugly around your iPhone, maintaining its sleek profile. Have you ever noticed that almost all battery cases extend past the bottom of your phone by 1 cm or more? We have designed a custom lightning connector that fits flush along the bottom of your iPhone, so you can enjoy no longer worrying about your phone’s battery without compromising its stunning design.
The CoBattery case weighs just 2.57 oz (73g), including the removable battery.
Life doesn’t have a regular schedule and neither do you. CoBattery allows you to seize the moment and take advantage of opportunities when they come up. With CoBattery you have full charge to pursue your passions.
Take CoBattery on a long hike, and you can be sure you’ll have enough charge to navigate your way home. Love to travel? Throw a few charged batteries into your backpack to give you charge for a week!
Kanye West or Kenny Chesney. Coachella or Tomorrowland. No matter your style, CoBattery will keep you rocking. Make sure that when your band comes on you’re in the first row and not caught up at a charging station.
The more your family and friends use CoBattery, the better it works! Dropping by a friend’s place while on a long trip, or before a big night out? Swap batteries at their charging dock for a full charge!
The final design of CoBattery is the result of countless prototypes and iterations. Throughout the process, beta testers in Boston and San Francisco provided us real-world feedback on the CoBattery system. 3D printing has enabled us to move quickly. After receiving a suggestion, we were often able to implement the change and have a new prototype ready that same day.
