New School Room for our Mini Monks
Damage to a support pillar has made current classroom unsafe for use and we need to build a new school room. The children are frightened in a daily state of uncertainty. Providing them with a familiar activity and continuing education is priority right now.
As you know the earthquake has caused so much damage to Kathmandu and surrounding villages. There is much work to be done to restore and will take a long time. Though we have damages that will need to be repaired, our priority is our mini monks. They are still sleeping outside, and daily are experiencing the after shocks and severe weather and rain. Our plan is to build a classroom on the roof, above the kitchen, we already have stairs leading to the roof.(It is the yellow building in the picture) It is our hope that by providing them with a safe room, and giving them a familiar, structured activity for their day, and allowing them to continue their education will be of immense value and comfort. And the neighboring children, who are in the same conditions, can again come for our common education classes, which will be helpful to many families. We will be eternally grateful for any support we can receive for this project.
