“The soul must be cared for…” in the words of Pedro Cuperman, distinguished Argentine poet, Professor at Syracuse University and founder of Punto de Contacto – Point of Contact. The sensibility of his vision and a rare art collection inhabit the soul of Point of Contact, a New York nonprofit organization in residence at Syracuse University since 1975. In order to preserve the collection we invite your support and partnership in a very special project.
In 2015 Point of Contact commemorates its 40th anniversary and the Point of Contact Gallery’s 10th, with the publication of a special edition art book and an exhibition program showcasing its unique art collection. Point of Contact’s rare permanent collection includes original works of art created especially for its publications over the last four decades. Comprised of more than 200 pieces of photography, collage, drawings, paintings and three-dimensional works, the collection features renowned contemporary artists from around the world who have collaborated with the organization through the years.
A treasure emerging in the heart of Central New York, Point of Contact’s permanent art collection is being documented for the first time in a special edition catalog and online archive, and we invite you to join the group of visionaries who are spearheading this project. We are already in the process of editing and designing a stunning art book, a collector’s item in itself. We call on you to be a part of this project. Your support will allow us to produce a beautiful catalog and most importantly, preserve the collection to inspire future generations, much as we all have been inspired by these works of art. For this project we have set a fundraising goal of $20,000 by the end of 2015. We hope to raise at least $8,000 through this campaign but if you can help us achieve more, we would be most grateful. Help us nourish the Point of Contact soul!
