The Ultimate Online Resource for Professional Chefs

ChefsNetwork is the online platform for today’s busy professional chefs: a one-stop online shop where chefs come to do everything and anything — except the actual cooking.

When you’re a professional chef, it seems like your work is never done: there are always a hundred things to do, and not nearly enough time to do them in. Your entire staff is clamoring for your attention, the oven is on the fritz, you need to find a new produce distributor — and that’s just the first five minutes!

The culinary world is fast-paced, demanding, always moving and always competitive. If chefs aren’t on top of their game 100% of the time, it is all too easy to fall behind. And with everything that’s going on in an average day in the kitchen, who has time to go to fifty different websites and hop on the phone with ten different distributors, read five different blogs — and run a business at the same time?

At ChefsNetwork, we believe today’s busy chefs deserve a resource that’s as multi-faceted as they are, and that puts all the tools and resources they need to manage their restaurants and their career in one streamlined and convenient location, so they can get back to focusing on what matters most: running their kitchen and cooking great food.

ChefsNetwork is the ultimate online resource for professional chefs, dedicated to providing professional chefs and other culinary professionals with a comprehensive selection of tools and resources that make the day-to-day management of their businesses and careers simple, efficient and cost-effective.

ChefsNetwork provides our member chefs with access to tools and resources covering every aspect of the culinary industry, including:

Self-improvement and continuing education

Retail purchases

Supplier networking

ChefsNetwork will be available to chefs on a Freemium basis, meaning that chefs can either access the platform’s basic tools and features free of charge, or opt to upgrade to a paid subscription membership that gives them access to enhanced features and functionalities that reflect their specific needs and interests.

When we say everything, we mean everything. Here’s a quick overview of just some of the resources and tools that will be available to users in the ChefsNetwork universe:

Look up recipes, download documents and menu templates, find management resources related to safety, training and human resources, and much more in ChefsNetwork’s ultimate restaurant management database.

The ultimate career development resource for professional chefs, providing access to job postings, professional networking tools, resume review and editing services, recruiting services and more.

The portal to the professional chef’s universe! The ChefsNetwork marketplace includes everything from chef knives, clothing, shoes, pastry supplies and culinary gadgets, to a virtual marketplace for china, glass and silver, plus heavy equipment coordinated for easy quoting though our “bidding engine,” where chefs can electronically request quotes for large projects.

Curious what’s going on elsewhere in the culinary universe? ChefsNetwork curates news and media into 50 categories, including food science, restaurant real estate, celebrity chef happenings, restaurant reviews and more, for easy and convenient browsing.

Interested in what’s happening a bit closer to home? ChefsNetwork Neighborhood features region-specific content like local events, local food news, small farm listings, and ads for local services, so you’re always plugged in to what’s local.

Here’s where ChefsNet really gets social: an aggregation of social media feeds and media, where we encourage ideas to incubate, debates to evolve, and a place where users can go to see “what is currently under discussion” in the industry.

A true professional chef is always a student at heart, and in our Learn section we provide all the resources chefs need to keep the learning going, including student resources, seminars and lectures, biz library coursework, an internship bulletin board and more.

ChefsNetwork is still in the early stages of development, but our team has a meticulous 5-year vision for the future of ChefsNetwork, outlining a full matrix of technologies and functionalities that, taken together, will comprise the most complete and comprehensive online resource the culinary community has ever seen. Below is a screen shot of the development of a “Chef user profile” ipad prototype.

Development of the prototype ChefsNetwork platform is already underway, and we have compiled a list of 185 professional chefs, who will serve founding members and beta test panel for the final ChefsNetwork product. ChefsNetwork has also been in talks with major industry players in the whole food distribution sector, as well as the china and tabletop manufacturing sector, about the possibility of their involvement with ChefsNetwork, and we will continue to reach out to valuable partners throughout various branches of the culinary industry as development of ChefsNetwork continues.

Up next: it’s time to kick development of ChefsNetwork into high gear, but in order to do that, we’re going to need some help. For more informaton about the future of ChefsNetwork and how you can be a part of our success story, please request access to the Business Plan page of this profile!
