Help Laduk Recover Fund
The aftershock that hit Laduk village in Dolakha district (North-east part of Kathmandu) on Sunday 26th of April 2015 completed the cycle of destruction that began with the main tremor that hit Nepal on 24th of April 2015.
It left not a single house in the village usable. Both the high school and the health centre buildings have collapsed too. People are living in temporary shelters – which hardly offer any shelter. Health issues have already started cropping up.
An extremely difficult situation indeed for the over 5,000 residents of the village, to say the least!
The pain and sufferings of Laduk residents are immense and will last for years to come. It is therefore critical that we support them emotionally and physically to the extent we can.
Time is of essence since heavy monsoon rains will begin soon.
To be of some assistance in that effort to recovery, we are starting a fund raising campaign with the aim of assisting in both short term relief and transition to longer term recovery. Kevin Gallagher who is leading FAO in India now, and his wife first to announce – US$ 300. Dr. Prakiti KC (Houston, TX, USA), has committed US$ 500. Ashe and I along with my father and children will put US$ 5,000.
We urge you to donate whatever you feel like.
To make donations, just send facebook message. Those in Rome can handover to Ashe, me or our daughter Sujaya physically. Those outside can deposit in my Paypal account, using following link.
To ensure full transparency for the funds collected, I have given access to my Paypal account to all contributors.
Rest assured that we will find a way to ensure full transparency on the use of the funds. Sujaya will keep you informed on regular basis.
