Relief Fund for Jayadish Shakya in Kathmandu Nepal
We are starting a relief fund for Jayadish Shakya in Nepal. All funds will be directed towards commissioning Jayadish to make statues. Those statues will be given to Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
Please contact: Alise Halbert at alisehalbert@gmail.com
My name is Alise Halbert and I am a friend of Jayadish Shakya the Buddhist statue maker. I have met him in both Nepal and at a Buddhist Festival in Portugal.
As many of you know, Nepal and the Kathmandu Valley are suffering deeply from the recent earthquake. Jayadish is staying on an encampment because many buildings in Kathmandu have been flattened or have been structurally compromised.
Jayadish’s family is alive: his wife and children are with her parents. He is separated from them and quartered in a tent with 500 other people. He is doing Tara every morning …
In order to externally support his conviction that he can transform the considerable difficulties facing himself and those around him, we will direct all Statue Fund donations toward new work for him, and completed statues will be offered to Geshe Kelsang Gyatso .
Please contact me with any questions, helpful information you may have, etc…Please pray for all those in Nepal going thru the aftermath of the earthquake and for any of those injured or killed during the earthquake. May their minds be blessed and their suffering quickly pacified. Thank you.
