QBAND: Solar Watch and Smartphone Charger

Keep your smartphone charged with a solar powered watch and advocate for global clean energy!
Luke Vance

Help us produce the most personal clean energy device in the world! We’ve designed a solar-powered watch that can charge your smartphone. It’s the most convenient way to keep your phone charged and stay green!

Never forget your charger again! The QBAND works as a smartphone charge cable and collects energy while you wear it, even indoors! So even when there isn’t an outlet in sight you can take your QBAND off and plug it directly into your phone for an additional 2 hours* of use!

(*charge may vary depending on use)

Tech Specs

  • 600 mAh Li-ion Battery
  • 500mW solar array
  • LED Watch Face
  • Flexible band
  • 4 LED charge indicators
  • Clasp enclosed connectors (micro USB or Lightning)

We Need Your Help!

We’ve built our prototypes and the QBAND is almost ready for manufacture, but we need your help financing molds and more importantly deciding the finishing touches!

Our Mission: Clean Energy For Everyone

What get’s us really excited is helping everyone use more clean energy. That’s why we’ve partnered with Nokero Solar, an awesome fellow Denver company that makes a convenient, affordable solar light bulb so people living in energy poverty can replace their dangerous kerosene lanterns with clean solar power!

So for every QBAND you pledge for we’ll send a Nokero lamp to Project C.U.R.E. for their Ebola relief efforts in West Africa.

Teamwork #FTW

We’re a young team and we’ve learned a ton from months of development, but we realize that we’ll probably still make some mistakes and learn some lessons before it’s all said and done.

To help us through some of the challenges we’ve partnered with some great teams:

  • Boulder Engineering Studio – kick-ass engineers and designers
  • Nokero Solar – experts in the world of solar and innovative energy solutions
  • Clean Energy Collective – community solar arrays and clean energy promoters
