Help Ulverstone High’s World Final Campaign!
Welcome to Ulverstone High School’s Facebook fund raising campaign! Our goal is to raise $30,000 in under six months to help get our team to Singapore for the F1 in Schools, World Final.
Welcome to Ulverstone High School’s F1 in Schools World Final fundraising Campaign page!
Ulverstone High School’s F1 in Schools Team, Ignition, have today been offered a wild card entry to compete as part of an international collaboration team in the 2015 World F1 in Schools final in Singapore at the Singapore Grand Prix. This comes after they impressed judges and other competitors with their performance at the Australian National F1 in Schools competition in March, 2015. With just 10 points, out of a possible 900, standing between them and a podium finish, the judges felt that they would be worthy candidates to represent Australia in the world finals in September.
To put this into perspective, F1 in Schools is the largest science and engineering school event in the world with more than 20 million students participating across the globe annually, from more than 17,000 schools (ref: http://www.f1inschools.com/about-the-challenge/). It’s an enormous achievement to be offered such an amazing opportunity to represent Australia after just 2 years running the program!
The boys have a proven track record and first became state champions and followed this up with a top 5 finish in the national competition, held at the Melbourne Grand Prix, in March, 2015 which places them among the top STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), students in the country.
All fundraising must be carried out by the students and we have less than SIX MONTHS to raise $30,000 to get to the world finals in Singapore in September, 2015. You can pledge your support for the team by visiting their Facebook page athttps://www.facebook.com/igniteF1inSchoolsteam and by donating directly from this web page. While you’re there, spread the word as far and wide as you can and like their page to follow their progress! Every dollar counts!
