About this project

THE H2O SALAMANDER – The World’s First Amphibious Three Wheeled Utility Vehicle

H2O Technologies is an innovation & technology development company working to solve Global issues and challenges by utilizing revolutionary products and sustainable to benefit the climate, the region’s people and the economy.

Climate and Transport represent two of the most socially, environmentally and economically challenges today. Transport – contributes to the majority of our world’s carbon footprint, our country alone experiences this progressive environmental impact because of climate change that results in torrential & erratic rains, excessive flooding instantly disabling our thoroughfares.

In the Philippines, more than half of the country’s 42,026 Barangays are flood prone areas. The NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council) identifies 26,559. As of the 2010 census, the total population of Metro Manila alone was 11,855,975 located within 1,704 barangays. And the most recent Typhoon -Luis has caused rapid increase in flood levels in the span of a short time compared to Typhoon Ondoy, this is an alarming indicator of the reality of climate change of what is to come.

According to Wikipedia, there are around 20 tropical cyclones or storms that enters the Philippines every year. Floods and disaster are common especially to populated cities like those in Metro Manila. As a local, one can remember the experience during school days, classes would get suspended due to floods and typhoons. It was then and it is still now.. And due to climate change, irregular occurrence of scattered or isolated rains are relevant exposing various parts of the flood prone areas in our country.

Amidst of these floods and typhoons, Filipinos remain committed, with stronger faith in God, one can say that despite the Flooding, Typhoons & Disasters, the Philippines is more likely to Unity, Faith, Hope & Love for its countrymen.

And as a Filipino Innovation company, that is also involved in manufacturing of light watercraft and marine engineering, we felt the urge to help and come up with a sustainable solution to address these Problem. Believing in the pure talent and expertise, we have formed a Team to develop the H2O Salamander.

After 18 months of research and development, we are unveiling the latest innovation in the Transport segment – Featuring, the H2O Salamander, the first of its kind, and the only amphibious 6-passenger three wheeled utility vehicle. This Trike is low cost & fuel efficient, it is compact that can fit into narrow urban streets. And the best of it all, it is able to travel in land and on flood waters. Powered by an optional full electric motor or an ultra-low emission internal combustion gasoline engine. The vehicle is environmentally friendly and helps in reducing carbon footprint on carbon emissions.

And now we seek the support of concerned individuals and companies to make this project concept a reality and envision that a day will come that H2O Salamander will be seen in the flood prone streets not only in the Philippines but the rest of the world.

For God, and for Country, God bless everyone.

Are you ready for the flood?

Across the Philippines there are over 42,028 Barangays of which over 26,559 of these are flood prone according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council. We see this every time on the news whenever there is significant rainfall. Whilst we are fully aware that there are issues with infrastructure today, the country and the people are in need of a solution. Otherwise, despite there not being any particular danger after the storms or typhoons have passed, flooding makes transport within the Barangays will be very difficult – slowing down the return to commerce and normality.

The Market

The H2O Salamander offers an alternative mode of transport not only for these 26,559 flood prone Barangays. But also for the private individuals, and companies living within the flood prone areas of the Philippines.

As an alternative mode of transport, this type of vehicle can also be use by the Resorts owners as coastal-line leisure vehicles and transporting tourist and passengers within short distant connecting islands.

Through financing, Public Utility Trikes in the Philippines could also play an important role in transporting millions of local residents everyday within these flood prone areas

The Salamander is a 6 passenger utility vehicle built to travel both land and even in flood waters. With a built-in Mud type Industrial grade propellers, this three wheeled Utlity vehicle can cross and penetrate even muds, garbage and dirts found in flood waters.

The Salamander will be available in both gasoline and electric models. The gas powered model has an ultra low emission internal combustion engine with an optional Hydrogen blending technology. Both are proprietary designed and manufactured by H2O Technologies.

The Salamander uses a patented solution held by H2O Technologies that allows the vehicle to use the same engine that seamlessly switches from land to water travel as required by the driver. It can reach speeds on land of up to 80km per hour and 6 knots in water fully burdened with driver and five passengers. But the Salamander also has some other tricks up its sleeve with a hull that has been designed to withstand a certain amount of damage and still maintain buoyancy & stability for water travel. The body’s unique trike design (notably a nod to the passenger trikes commonly used throughout the Philippines today) was designed by Atoy Llave – a name commonly associated with customized vehicles and the growing sport of car drifting in the Philippines.

We built two versions because whilst we see the need now for the electric version of the SALAMANDER, the concern remains on whether the infrastructure is available today to support it. And by this, we mean things such as electric charging stations etc. So, the Hydrogen blended SALAMANDER model will help us provide a more familiar version to customers today and will simply run on fuel or gas at the same time environmentally friendly. H2O Technology also has a patent pending innovation called HydrOPlus, an advanced hydrogen blending technology which helps with creating more efficient fuel consumption and reduces carbon emissions.

At the same time however, we want to prepare for the future. And we are certain that the future will be in electric vehicles. Hence, the electric version of the SALAMANDER has also been built and will go into manufacturing so that people will have an option and we can then slowly shift the unit production from the fossil fuel version of old, to the new and more sustainable electric version of the future.
