CRAIG PHILLIPS’ FUNDRAISER:
BLACKROCK LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY – SAFARICOM MARATHON & HALF MARATHON
Continuing a BlackRock tradition, 9 employees from across the firm will participate in the 16th annual Safaricom Marathon and Half Marathon. The annual race, which takes place on June 27th, is run through the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya, Africa and raises funds for Tusk Trust.
This is the 8th year that BlackRock has participated in what Running World Magazine considers one of the 10 most grueling and difficult races in the world. Temperatures regularly reach over 90 degrees Fahrenheit and the race course approaches an altitude of 6,000 feet at points. The course is set on dirt roads that take the runners on a 13.1 mile course through the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, across savannah plains, along river banks and through acacia woodland before finishing at Lewa’s.
