I am influenced by Peacocks, the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s as well as New Orleans’ zest for life and it’s flair for anything goes.

About this project

To tell you a little about myself please read the following:

Peacock symbolism: Vision, Royalty, Spirituality, Awakening, Guidance, Protection, & Watchfulness. In Greco-Roman mythology the Peacock tail has the “eyes” of the stars. In Hinduism, the Peacock is associated with Lakshmi who represents patience, kindness and luck.

That said – I am influenced by Peacocks, the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s as well as New Orleans’ zest for life and it’s flair for anything goes. I am a free spirit and my wearable art is for the confident and free at heart! This was my first year participating in Fashion Week but not my first fashion show. I have been featured in three fashion shows in 2014. Twice in Raw Natural Born Artist and once is Sugar Art and Fashion Show. Also I was featured in a 2 pg. spread in Gambit’s Cue magazine in Mar. 2014 “Birds of a Feather” Pgs. 22 & 23. Fashion Week is featuring my wearable art headpieces which are sculpted out of primarily feathers and some other materials.

I’m invited to be in New York Fashion Show and in order to do so I need funding to support my attendance.  My designs which are headpieces primarily, also consist of costumes and other accessaries which are sought after by individuals though out the United States. I am currently in the midst of making my brand known which is couture Avant Garde. My designs are up and coming and made to each individuals needs. No matter what the style , size, color are other specifications each design is an original. My designs are currently being carried in the French Quarter by “Love It” off of Royal and sell very well. They are also made to order through me. Many people are big fans of my designs.  I also design some of my clothing in retro style for dancing out on the town. I could give her I have attached some links below for your review.

Risks and challenges

My risk include not meeting my quota finically timely. I need $1500.00 currently to start the process after which I need the balance by July 2015. I am currently working towards collaborating with another designer in New York as well as the founder of NOLA fashion week to raise the funding to start my venture. I may have to borrow and repay the $1500.00 needed to start with if not raised in time. Other than that there are not risk as with the money raised I can fund the remaining portion of the venture including trip expenses.
