Migrant Woman Talks - Inspiring & Empowering Migrant Women: help migrant women (and supporters) to engage, participate and manifest their thoughts in an inclusive media, dedicated exclusively for them
Migrant Woman Talks has been created to provide a platform for all women around the world to express their voice and have a media space.
About the project
This platform will help migrant women (and supporters) to engage, participate and manifest their thoughts in an inclusive media, dedicated exclusively for them.
Migrant Woman Talks is an idea that has evolved from Migrant Woman magazine that launched in April 2014. www.migrantwoman.com It will kick off with The Inspiring Migrant Women Conference at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel in Covent Garden London on 02 May 2015. The aim of the project is to motivate, challenge and ignite women from all walks of life and backgrounds to fulfilling their dreams, and achieving more than they ever believed possible. www.migrantwomantalks.com
We will be holding the first Migrant Woman of the Year Award, seeking to recognise the woman who has served as a great role model and inspiration in any field. The nominations for 2015 have been mainly London based and next year our intention is to attract interest from other parts of the UK. The winner will be voted by a judging panel of 15 members and the attending audience of up to 300 people.
This will be followed by a series of smaller events, stories in Migrant Woman magazine, and a book of 100 migrant women stories, due to be published by the end of 2015. There will be a charity auction at the end of the conference on 02 May of items belongng to Rita Ora and a raffle. All proceeds will go to Solace Women’s Aid and Migrant Woman Association.
The funding will help us to drive this project forward, (through the magazine, events and books), expand, and to widen our reach. Our plan is to have an easily accessible regular networking venue that will bring women of all nationaities and cultures together to share, collaborate and exchange their knowledge, skills and experience.
