Quality Leather Accessories Made Sustainably and Ethically.
Hare+Hart is a thriving leather goods company that offers quality women’s handbags and accessories using only sustainable and ethical practices.
Around the world, more and more people are making a statement with their consumer habits by supporting and buying products produced by companies that share their same value system of sustainability and ethics. At Hare+Hart, we believe in integrity, which is why we have always and will always put ethics and sustainability at the forefront of our company.
Today’s consumers are choosing brands based on more than just their products. Grocery stores are full of products labeled fair-trade because people care about sustainability and ethics. People want to purchase from brands that represent a value system that they can feel good about. But when it comes to fashion and leather goods, there are very few companies offering modern aesthetics and an ethical company framework.
Hare+Hart is a high fashion leather goods company founded on the principles of sustainability, fair labor, and quality. All of our high-end handbags and accessories are made using eco-conscious and luxury grade leathers and are manufactured in a fair wage facility with proper humane working conditions.
Certain leather tanning methods require heavy metal stabilizers to set color and consistency, which can cause serious environmental issues when the chrome leaks into the ground and water supply. That’s why Hare+Hart only uses a vegetable tanning method that uses bark and plant materials to stabilize the leather.
We have partnered with a manufacturing firm out of China who practices eco-friendly and humanitarian working conditions and has been doing so for the past 35 years. Workers are given adequate breaks, and the facility is well lit, well ventilated and has an on-site medical facility.
At Hare+Hart, we design bags with a modern aesthetic made from luxury grade leathers, custom cast brass hardware, and organic linings, because we don’t think that a company with integrity has to sacrifice quality to do so.
Hare+Hart first launched in 2010, nearly 5 years ago. Since then we’ve seen tremendous success and growth. We have better boutiques throughout the United States, Canada and Japan and are in the midst of selling our 8th collection!
