A new twist on two way back designs
A little about myself
Hello, my name is Orhan Kallogjeri and I am one of the creators of Air playing cards. I am a mechanical engineer student but I have always had a passion for design. I have been using Photoshop and adobe illustrator professionally and personally over the past two years. Ever since I got into collecting cards I realized that I never liked complex cards. I always enjoyed simpler and clean designs because they are more visually appealing to the eye. So, since I had a background in design I decided to create my own deck. My first attempts were not good and not bad either but after my friend Leonardo came along things changed. We worked hours on end to bring the most simplistic and most effective design. Together we built what Air is today.
Air with USPCC
I am only printing 2500 Air playing cards through USPCC. The cards will be printed on bee stock with magic finish. I have learned that bee stock is one of the most liked and one of the most durable stocks that USPCC has to offer. I plan on using magic finish because its USPCC’s upgraded coating. As the name suggests this coating is used on playing cards to give them better handling attributes during the performance of flourishes and magic tricks.
Design
When creating Air playing cards I had one goal in mind, make a deck so unique and good looking that Cardists and magicians will love. The design is supposed to simulate the word AIR. Not many people see this but that’s where the design comes from. Since the letter A is curved in the bottom, it gives a beautiful effect doing spins. Pirouettes look absolutely stunning with this deck.
Jokers
The number one question I have asked is why chameleons for jokers. Well, the chameleon is supposed to be used for color changes. I am well aware that it doesn’t fit the theme of the deck but it doesn’t have to. I always find myself leaving the jokers at home and only using them when performing. I tend to perform a lot of visual color changes so I figured why not use it towards my advantage. They are the only creatures that are able to change colors, it made sense to make them change colors in the deck.
The next custom thing about the deck is the ace of spades. The Ace of spades is a general ace with cut outs to make it look like it’s floating on air. It has a unique look that fits the theme of the deck.

Pricing
I understand that $10 is a lot for a deck, but you have to take into consideration that I will ship these decks for free in the US. I also understand that raising $10,000 is a lot of money but it’s just enough for this project. It will cost around $7500 to produce and ship the decks from USPCC. To gather all of the materials such as boxes and envelopes will cost another $500. Theres also the Kickstarter fee of 8-10%. This means that there will be approximately around $1000 for capital and this money will be used for shipping or for future Air playing card projects.
This project has fixed funding. Meaning, if I don’t reach my goal of $10,000 within the 30 day period, you get all your money back! Unfortunately it also means the cards don’t get made so please back this project! I plan on putting some of my own money into this project because I really want this to come true, I’m not here to make money. My goal is to make something that people will enjoy and use everyday.
If the project gets funded I will be shipping all of the decks by myself. I plan on sending them out as soon as they arrive so you guys can stop waiting.
